Chapter 23 — Part II — The Lord's Prayer

Section 417. Q. Why are we directed to ask for bread for subsistence only for this day ? A. That we may not be too anxious about the future, but trust for that to God. Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself: sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matt. vi. 34. For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Matt. vi. 32.
